Renowned rapper Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson III has vehemently denied any involvement in a $500 million cryptocurrency scam. The scheme involved hackers taking control of his Twitter account and website to promote a fraudulent cryptocurrency token named "GUNIT". Leveraging 50 Cent's extensive following, the cyber criminals executed a classic rug pull tactic, artificially inflating the value of the GUNIT token before causing its rapid collapse.

In this elaborate deception, unsuspecting investors witnessed the falsely inflated GUNIT token plummet to extremely low prices—specifically, $0.00016. 50 Cent promptly alerted his massive Instagram audience of 33 million about the hack, disclosing the substantial amount of money the fraudsters made off with.

Surprisingly cooperative with Twitter, 50 Cent praised their swift response in securing his account. He mentioned in a post that the hackers stole nearly $300 million in just 30 minutes. While sharing details of the incident, he distanced himself from any association with the GUNIT token and even shared screenshots of discussions within the cryptocurrency community exposing the token's fraudulent nature.

Back in 2018, 50 Cent briefly dipped into the world of digital assets amid rumors that he made millions as an early adopter of Bitcoin. It was speculated that he accepted Bitcoin payments for his album "Animal Ambition," allegedly earning him around 700 bitcoins, valued then at approximately $7 million to $8.5 million. However, during bankruptcy proceedings, 50 Cent clarified that while he did accept bitcoin payments, they did not result in significant profits.
