The Cosmos Network has been known to be one of the Ecosystems where Airdrops happen often. Most crypto investors were not aware of this until the recent Celestial Airdrop where Cosmos was one of the few Ecosystems that received the majority of the Celestial Airdrop.

The Cosmos Ecosystem is often referred to as the "Blockchain of Blockchains" because it provides a framework for interoperability between different blockchains. It enables various blockchains to communicate and transfer assets seamlessly(IBC - inter-blockchain Communication), fostering a connected and collaborative ecosystem. This interoperability allows for the creation of a network of blockchains, each with its specific use case or features, working together to enhance scalability, security, and flexibility in the decentralized space.

New projects coming into the Cosmos Ecosystem of Blockchains usually airdrop their tokens to existing members of the Cosmos ecosystem who are staking a certain number of Coins in the Cosmos Ecosystem, with Cosmos native token $ATOM leading the list.

By staking in a POS network, you contribute to securing the network. This is one of the reasons why projects airdrop their tokens. Another good reason is that airdrop helps new projects achieve decentralization.

Without further ado, here are a few things one needs to do to position for airdrops in the Cosmos ecosystem.

i. Stake these tokens and up to these numbers; at least 20 $ATOM ( 50 to 100 $ATOM is the surest bet), 150 OSMO, 20 $TIA, 3000 $STARS, 100k $HUAHUA, at least 1 stATOM, $KUJI, etc.

ii. Hold certain NFTs- Badkids NFT has come to be one of the few NFTs that has received airdrops. Check some popular NFTs in the Stargaze marketplace and hold some of them.

iii. Increase your activity score. You can do this by interacting with various Dapps on Cosmos and participating in pools.

Staking in POS has what is called an unbonding period, that is, the time it will take for the tokens you earlier staked, which you are now unstaking to get to your wallet. This means, your staked tokens won't be accessible to you immediately after you unstake. These measures are put in to protect the POS network. The unbonding period is usually 14 days and 21 days.
