What is Arch?
Arch distinguishes itself as the first Bitcoin-native application platform, offering "bridgeless" trading directly on the Bitcoin blockchain. Unlike traditional Layer 2 networks, Arch is not designed to enhance scalability or introduce lower fee models through additional layers. Instead, it provides a seamless platform for deploying applications while preserving user custody, a fundamental difference that sets it apart from other Bitcoin Layer 2 solutions.

According to Matt Mudano, co-founder of Arch, developers can deploy applications on the platform seamlessly, thanks to the ArchVM built entirely in Rust, a programming language renowned for its efficiency and reliability. Inspired by Solana, ArchVM offers a user-friendly environment for developers to create innovative applications without compromising on security or usability.

For users, engaging with Arch-based applications is effortless, regardless of their Bitcoin wallet preferences. There's no need to bridge assets or download specialized wallets, significantly reducing friction and enhancing the overall user experience.
