Binance, the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange in terms of trading volume, is increasing the accessibility of its Portfolio Margin product to non-VIP customers who have a minimum balance of 100,000 USDT in their Cross Margin and Futures accounts.

The expansion will allow a more extensive group of Binance traders, particularly those who use sophisticated portfolio strategies but do not have VIP status, to enjoy the benefits of improved capital efficiency.

Binance has introduced a significant improvement to its platform with the launch of the new Portfolio Margin wallet, which combines the USD-M Futures, COIN-M Futures, and Cross Margin wallets into a unified wallet. This integration aims to streamline portfolio management and optimization for users.

With the new Portfolio Margin wallet, traders can use various assets from the combined futures and margin wallets as collateral for Binance's Portfolio Margin. This feature applies to a wide range of trading pairs, offering 878 trading opportunities: 548 cross margin pairings, 281 USD-M Futures contracts, and 49 COIN-M Futures contracts.

Sherrine Tan, Binance's Product Marketing Lead, expressed her excitement about the expansion:

"We are thrilled to extend Portfolio Margin to eligible non-VIP users, enabling them to utilize a wide range of supported collateral assets on Binance for enhanced trading strategies. The unified Portfolio Margin Wallet simplifies asset management and offers greater convenience."

Portfolio Margin accounts provide a comprehensive evaluation of a trader's overall market exposure by considering the unrealized Profit and Loss (PnL) from both Futures and Cross Margin trading activities. This risk-based margin strategy enhances capital efficiency, offers more arbitrage opportunities, and serves as a valuable risk management tool.

Portfolio Margin supports the broadest selection of collateral assets available on the market, which can be used concurrently with USD-M Futures, COIN-M Futures, and Cross Margin trading products. This feature provides competitive collateral ratios to optimize capital efficiency.

Additionally, the new feature balances positions among the three trading products, allowing the netting of unrealized PnL. The integration of collateral assets and PnL management into a single Portfolio Margin wallet simplifies supervision and management.

Lastly, the new Portfolio Margin wallet enhances the trading experience for USD-M Futures, COIN-M Futures, and Cross Margin products through dedicated API endpoints for Portfolio Margin trading.
