According to CoinShares, a significant amount of money, $621 million, left Bitcoin investment products last week. This substantial outflow is a reflection of the mixed economic signals that have been emerging from the U.S.

The broader digital asset investment landscape also saw significant outflows, with a total of $600 million leaving the market. This is largely attributed to the substantial losses experienced by Bitcoin, which marks the largest figure since March 22.

Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), a popular investment vehicle, was the most affected, with a staggering $273 million in outflows. This pattern is consistent with GBTC's historical vulnerability to market fluctuations, further exacerbating the negative sentiment in the crypto market.

On the other hand, altcoins such as Ethereum, Lido, and Ripple saw minor inflows. This indicates that while Bitcoin faced a tough time, investor interest in alternative digital assets remained somewhat resilient.

The mixed economic signals stemmed from the recent U.S. inflation data for May, which measured the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The CPI data surpassed expectations by remaining flat for the month, initially providing a glimmer of hope for the markets. However, this positive news was quickly overshadowed by the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) of the Federal Reserve maintaining its benchmark interest rate range at 5.25%-5.50%. Furthermore, the FOMC's economic outlook projected only one 25 basis point rate cut for the remainder of the year, a hawkish stance that dampened market optimism.
