In a notable development within the cryptocurrency and non-fungible token (NFT) spheres, Bitcoin Wizards, a fresh project centered around Bitcoin (BTC) ordinals, has made significant waves, propelling its native token WZRD to impressive gains over the past day.

WZRD has surged by an astonishing 88% within the last 24 hours, currently priced at $9 at the time of this report. This surge positions it as the leading gainer among the top 500 cryptocurrencies. At its peak, WZRD briefly soared to an intraday high of $113.8 around 09:30 UTC on April 16, driven by a surge in trading activity. Just five days following its launch on April 15, WZRD hit an all-time high of $197.75. The token's daily trading volume has surged by a remarkable 198%, now standing at $10.1 million.

According to data sourced from CryptoSlam, Bitcoin Wizards NFT sales volume has experienced a staggering 325% surge over the past 24 hours, reaching a total of $5.48 million. Concurrently, the number of buyers and sellers has seen substantial growth, up by 110% and 85%, respectively, within the last day, with 547 buyers and 455 sellers actively participating.

Furthermore, the global NFT sales volume has seen a notable uptick of 15% in the same 24-hour period, currently hovering around the $40 million mark, as reported by CryptoSlam. Bitcoin leads the charge in NFT sales with $20.6 million, followed by Ethereum with a volume of $7.6 million.

However, it's worth noting that despite Bitcoin's dominance in NFT sales, only a marginal portion of its volume, $17,871, is attributed to wash trades, compared to Ethereum's wash volume of $6.5 million.

While Bitcoin-based NFTs have witnessed remarkable growth over the past year, Binance recently announced that its NFT marketplace will cease supporting digital collectibles on the leading blockchain network, effective April 18.
