The proposal delineates Chainalysis's offerings, encompassing the monitoring and tracing of DOT token activities on the Relay Chain to afford regulators and institutions visibility into on-chain actions, aimed at bolstering regulatory compliance and fostering a risk-aware environment.

In addition to tracking DOT token movements, Chainalysis aims to provide on-chain intelligence solutions tailored to institutional requirements regarding DOT token listings, encompassing investigations, compliance, and growth-oriented use cases. The proposed collaboration entails joint initiatives such as events, announcements, and case studies to underscore Chainalysis's contribution to supporting Polkadot's compliance framework.

For the envisaged three-year partnership, the proposal seeks 1,000,000 DOT tokens or their equivalent value in USD (roughly $6.82 million), with Chainalysis designated as the recipient upon approval. However, the proposal has encountered limited traction within the Polkadot community, facing opposition from 11 voters despite initial backing from a Polkadot ambassador.

Should the partnership materialize, it holds the promise of manifold benefits, including enhancing market capitalization, market share, adoption rates, and institutional appeal for Polkadot. Furthermore, it could serve as a safeguard against fines and reputational harm stemming from regulatory non-compliance.
