Ubisoft will join 27 other node operators on the open-source Cronos blockchain, contributing to its stability and security by participating in the decentralized authentication of transactions.

This collaboration signifies Cronos' commitment to engaging with open-source advocates and technically proficient validators. Notable supporters of the Cronos blockchain include Crypto.com, Blockdaemon, and Dora Factory. Ubisoft will serve as an authenticator, playing a role in the blockchain's governance.

In return, the Cronos ecosystem stands to benefit from access to Ubisoft's Strategic Innovation Lab, particularly regarding technology scaling for gaming applications. Ubisoft previously participated in the Cronos Accelerator program as a startup consultant.

Ken Timsit, Managing Director of Cronos Labs, emphasizes Ubisoft's expertise in blockchain technology and its potential to bridge gamers with game developers. Cronos recently introduced Cronos Play, a suite of developer tools and integrations aimed at simplifying the process of creating blockchain-based games.
