Bowman's stance against cryptocurrencies was a significant factor in his defeat, according to Stand with Crypto (SWC), a non-profit organization. He actively opposed several pro-industry bills, including the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century (FIT21) Act and the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act. During the campaign, Fairshake invested over $2 million in advertisements against Bowman, contrasting his views with those of industry-friendly candidates.
