The crypto market today experienced a turbulent performance, with Bitcoin fluctuating while Ethereum, XRP, and other altcoins slipped. Despite the overall sluggish performance, BOME emerged as one of the top gainers, while FLOKI was among the top losers.

The global crypto market cap was down 0.66% from yesterday, resting at the $2.58 trillion mark. The total crypto market volume recorded over the last 24 hours is $98.22 billion, marking a notable 19.59% decrease since the past day.

Bitcoin's price struggled to maintain its position above the $70K mark, trading at $69,425.23 with a 0.77% dip recorded over the past day. Ethereum traded primarily in the red, with XRP and meme coins DOGE and SHIB following the tumbled price movement. Solana, too, rode a rollercoaster ride, although the token traded primarily in the green.

Ethereum (ETH) illustrated a 1.15% dip in its price over the past day, currently sitting at $3,762. Solana's price jumped 0.88% over the past day, reaching $178.68, while XRP decreased in value by 1.36%, trading at $0.5281. Cardano's price trajectory illustrated a 1.56% fall, currently trading at $0.4855.

Dogecoin tumbled 2.43% to $0.1667, and Shiba Inu's price sunk 3.34% to $0.00002536. Pepe coin (PEPE) also drained 4.65% in value to $0.00001353.

Among the top gainers, Bittensor (TAO) price surged 8.01% to $455.24, BOOK OF MEME (BOME) jumped 2.98% to $0.01319, dogwifhat (WIF) rallied 5.67% to $2.98, and JasmyCoin (JASMY) noted a 4.02% upswing to $0.02167.

The top losers included Core (CORE), which plunged 6.62% to $1.69, Lido DAO (LDO), which plummeted 6.16% to $2.08, and Floki Inu (FLOKI), which noted a 5.63% pullback to $0.0002242.

It's worth noting that May 23 is the deadline for ETH ETF approval, and the Ethereum price could witness further volatility with both upside and downside momentum.
