Cryptocurrency enthusiasts are pooling their digital assets to fund a unique initiative wherein a man purchases goats and christens them with names inspired by individuals, products, or concepts from the crypto world.

The endeavor took flight when Richard Opany, leveraging his $100 Worldcoin airdrop, acquired a goat during the Easter period and dubbed it "Sam," paying homage to Worldcoin co-founder Sam Altman. This addition joined his existing pair of goats.

Following suit, Leighton Cusack, co-founder of PoolTogether, contributed $100 for Opany to acquire another goat. Utilizing the funds, Opany procured two goats, christening one "Higher," seemingly reflecting the fervent aspirations tied to crypto prices, and the other "Base," a nod to Coinbase's Layer 2 network.

Two anonymous crypto enthusiasts have proposed the idea of tokenizing the goat purchased with Worldcoin, although Opany expressed uncertainty regarding the process.

With a burgeoning demand, Opany has received requests to purchase and name additional goats. Neeraj Agrawal, Head of Communications at CoinCenter, provided $50 to name a goat after his friend Nic Carter, a General Partner at Castle Island Ventures. Another crypto enthusiast, known as Brunny and formerly affiliated with Aztec Network, similarly contributed $50 to christen a goat "Boaty McBoatFace," a name famously selected via public vote for a UK polar research vessel, albeit later overturned.

An additional anonymous donor also contributed the same amount to name a goat after CoinCenter's Neeraj. Carter further chipped in $100 to name a goat "Tungsten," referencing the heavy cubes that became a meme on Crypto Twitter over two years ago, where Agrawal humorously transformed a Bloomberg headline into reality.

According to on-chain data, Opany has received approximately $1,120 in various cryptocurrencies across multiple blockchain networks. Some of these funds have been directed to crypto exchanges.

When queried about his capacity to accommodate goats, Opany indicated that the maximum would be 15 goats.
