Deutsche Bank has partnered with BitPanda to facilitate real-time inbound and outbound cash payments for German crypto traders using German International Bank Account Numbers (IBANs). This collaboration aims to enhance transaction efficiency, security, and liquidity for BitPanda users in Germany.

Enhanced Transaction Efficiency and Security

Through this partnership, BitPanda will utilize an API-based account solution from Deutsche Bank, enabling the platform to access German IBANs. These internationally agreed-upon codes ensure safe processing of international transfers, thereby improving the efficiency and security of fund transfers. German crypto traders will benefit from real-time settlements for all fiat deposits and withdrawals.

Real-Time Cash Settlements

Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad, Deputy CEO of BitPanda, emphasized the role of banks in making crypto accessible to the masses. He highlighted BitPanda’s decade-long focus on trust, compliance, and security, which has facilitated partnerships with major financial institutions such as Raiffeisen Bank International, LBBW, and N26. This new partnership with Deutsche Bank aims to streamline treasury operations and reconciliation processes, ultimately leading to more robust liquidity across BitPanda’s core markets.

Enzersdorfer-Konrad believes that partnerships between crypto platforms and banks ultimately benefit end users by offering them the full capabilities of first-class crypto products. He noted that the regulatory clarity provided by the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) framework has encouraged Europe’s largest banks to develop crypto solutions.

According to Enzersdorfer-Konrad, European banks are increasingly moving into crypto as an asset class due to the clarity provided by MiCA. However, banks often lack the technical expertise and infrastructure to develop these products independently, leading them to partner with crypto service providers like BitPanda.
