As a future traveler, one journey I'd like to embark on is one into the Safari of East African countries. I mean Kenya, take me to Namibia, don’t forget Tanzania. Yep, you read that right.

I can bet that I'm not alone in this thought. There are many like me who'd like to visit the Safari. But while that's on hold for now, there's another Safari-like journey I'd like us to embark on together...in this article. Instead of wildlife, this one's a journey into the African web3 ecosystem.

I mean ETHSafari!!!

What is ETHSafari?

ETHSafari is Africa's biggest ETH event. It was launched by SafariDAO, an African based web3 community, dedicated to ensuring the growth of the African web3 ecosystem. It is an initiative started in 2022 to bring together a community of blockchain enthusiasts from all parts of East Africa and the world at large to "learn, discuss and build a better, decentralized present and future." Kenya, a hot spot for cryptocurrency in Africa, is the country where this event is being hosted.

Think food, blockchain talk, sun, sand, tree shades, music, drinks, Kenya natives all together in one place; think ETHSafari!

Highlights from ETHSafari 2022

Before we explore this year's edition, let's get a few highlights from the first edition which took place last year. ETHSafari 2022 recorded over 300 attendees from different countries across the globe. Attendees ranged from different web3 professionals and enthusiasts who had come to learn, share and network with others in the space. It took place on 18th - 25th of September, 2022.

ETHSafari 2023: Get Real

This year's edition of ETHSafari is scheduled for 18th - 24th September, 2023. The theme for the conference is "Get Real" and it promises to be an adventurous and enlightening 7-day event.

ETHSafari 2023 boasts of big names in the space sponsoring and partnering with it. Celo, Polygon, Metamask, Coinbase, Avalanche, Adaverse, among others are official sponsors for this year's ETHSafari conference. While notable projects like NODO, Cointelegraph, Bankless Africa, CryptoNewz and more are set to become official media partners.

Among the speakers lined up for this amazing conference are dedicated thought leaders in the web3 space and builders of various ground-breaking web3 projects. NODO's very own Content Operations Lead, Chidubem Emelumadu will also be speaking at the ETHSafari 2023.

According to the public schedule, this 7-day conference will feature IRL bootckathon (bootcamp & hackathon), panels, workshops, keynotes, showcases, festival, a blocktrain from Nairobi to Kilifi and an after-party (AKA ETHSafari Recovery Day) at the beach on the last day.
