Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the former CEO of Binance, reportedly holds a significant 64% stake in Binance Coin's circulating supply, totaling around 94 million BNB tokens. This finding, revealed in a recent Forbes report, was determined through an analysis by Gray Wolf Analytics. Out of the original 80 million BNB tokens allocated to the Binance founding team, CZ and the company still control 46 million tokens.

Binance Coin (BNB), the native token of the Binance platform used for fees and rewards, has a total cap of 200 million tokens, with 153 million currently in circulation. With BNB trading at approximately $593 per token, the total market capitalization of BNB stands at a substantial $91 billion.

CZ's significant ownership in Binance, combined with his crypto holdings, has contributed to his considerable wealth, ranking him as the 24th richest person globally with an estimated net worth of $61 billion. It is noteworthy that Binance and CZ collectively control 71% of the 147 million BNB tokens in circulation.

In legal matters, CZ previously pleaded guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act in 2023. This resulted in him stepping down from his leadership role at Binance and paying fines totaling $50 million. Binance also faced legal consequences, receiving a hefty fine of $4.3 billion. Despite these challenges, BNB has seen a strong bull run, with its price surging from $290 in January 2024 to a peak of $724 in June.
