Kenyan officials have acknowledged discussions with the Nigerian government regarding the extradition of Binance executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, who is reportedly on the run.

A recent TechCabal report states that Nigeria has formally requested the extradition of Anjarwalla from Kenya, following his escape from detention in Nigeria. An unnamed detective at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the extradition request but noted that no action had been taken yet. The detective explained that the process would require time and cooperation between both nations.

The detective also mentioned the possibility of a red notice or foreign arrest warrant, which could complicate the extradition process. The detective emphasized that police agencies share information through Interpol, but the execution of a red notice or foreign arrest warrant is a separate matter.

Extradition Procedure and Legal Issues

The extradition process involves several legal issues to ensure compliance with both local and foreign laws. For Anjarwalla's extradition, a Nigerian court must first issue an arrest warrant, which will be forwarded to Kenya's attorney general.
