Leading asset managers have updated their proposals for Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs), setting sights on an early July launch, according to industry analysts.

In a move that signals growing interest in cryptocurrency investments, several prominent asset management firms submitted revised proposals for Ethereum ETFs to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on June 21. This step is crucial as they prepare to introduce these financial products to the market.

On Friday, VanEck, BlackRock, Grayscale, and Invesco Galaxy Digital collectively updated their S-1 Registration Statements following the market close. Earlier the same day, Fidelity also filed a new S-1 form with the SEC. These filings are significant as they outline the operational details and fees associated with the proposed ETFs.

VanEck’s filing disclosed a management fee of 0.20% for its Ethereum fund, which is competitive with Franklin Templeton’s 0.19% fee. Notably, BlackRock has yet to reveal the management fees for its iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA). Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas noted that VanEck's fee structure could exert pressure on BlackRock to maintain fees below 30 basis points to remain competitive.

Over the past weeks, several amendments have been submitted to the SEC, marking one of the final steps before the ETFs' anticipated debut on Wall Street exchanges. Balchunas forecasts that these funds will launch in the first week of July, just ahead of the U.S. Independence Day holiday.

The SEC had previously approved a rule change in May, allowing major asset managers to list and trade eight spot Ether ETFs. The approved firms include VanEck, BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, Franklin Templeton, ARK 21Shares, Invesco Galaxy, and Bitwise.

In its updated filing, Fidelity disclosed that FMR Capital, one of its affiliates, had seeded $4.7 million at $38 per share. Meanwhile, Bitwise amended its ETF proposal on June 19 to reflect a potential $100 million investment from Pantera Capital at the ETF's trading launch.

Additionally, Hashdex is seeking regulatory approval for a new ETF that combines spot Bitcoin and Ether. This comes after Hashdex recently decided to abandon plans for an ETF solely dedicated to Ether.

As the approval process advances, investors and market watchers eagerly anticipate the introduction of these Ethereum ETFs, which could significantly impact the cryptocurrency investment landscape.
