The cryptocurrency market has been facing significant turbulence in recent weeks, with Bitcoin (BTC) prices dipping below the $61,000 mark. At the heart of this volatility is a massive selloff by Bitcoin miners, who have offloaded over 30,000 BTC, equivalent to around $2 billion, in the month of June alone.

This unprecedented miner selloff has driven Bitcoin's miner reserves down to a 14-year low of 1.9 million BTC. The primary driver behind this trend is the impact of the fourth Bitcoin Halving event, which occurred in April 2024. The Halving event reduced the block rewards from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC, significantly impacting miner profitability.

Smaller mining operations, in particular, have been forced to liquidate their holdings to cover their operational costs, as the current Bitcoin price of around $61,000 is well below the breakeven point of $80,000 for many miners. This miner selloff has coincided with large-scale sales from Bitcoin whales, who have unloaded over $4 billion worth of BTC, as well as the German government's divestment of $3 billion from its Bitcoin reserves.

Despite the ongoing market volatility, some analysts see a potential rebound on the horizon. Crypto analyst Ali Martinez has noted that in the past two years, the Bitcoin daily RSI has hit oversold territory three times, resulting in price surges of 60%, 63%, and 198%, respectively. With Bitcoin's RSI currently in oversold territory, Martinez suggests that this could be a prime opportunity to "buy the dip."

Another prominent analyst, known as The Wolf of All Streets, has provided a detailed technical analysis, highlighting that Bitcoin has revisited range lows, nearing the crucial $60,000 support area. He also noted that the 50-day moving average has been breached, while the 200-day moving average, currently around $57,000, is rising.

The coming week is expected to be critical for the cryptocurrency market, with the expiration of over 104,000 BTC options, valued at $6.72 billion, on June 28. Additionally, the release of key economic data, including the U.S. GDP growth rate and the PCE inflation data, could further impact market sentiment and Bitcoin's price trajectory.
