Farside Investors reported that the three Bitcoin ETFs launched in the city on April 30 only managed to accumulate $262 million in assets before listing, with just $14 million coming in during the first week.

In comparison, US-based spot Bitcoin ETFs saw billions of dollars flowing in during their launch in January, highlighting the significant difference in investor interest. The Hong Kong stock sector, valued at $4.5 trillion, is considerably smaller and less liquid than the $50 trillion US stock market. Additionally, strict restrictions prevent Chinese investors from participating in these ETFs unless they are based in Hong Kong.
