After causing significant disruption in the digital asset sector and stealing millions, the 'Pink Drainer' scam-as-a-service operator has announced it will cease operations and erase all traces of its activities.

In an unexpected Telegram statement, Pink Drainer, known for draining cryptocurrency wallets, declared its retirement, stating that it had achieved its goal. The developers assured there are no plans to return and warned that any future messages claiming to be from them should be treated with suspicion unless verified by specific wallet signatures (0x636/0x9fa).

A note from Pink Drainer’s developers, shared by on-chain investigator ZachXBT on Telegram, read, "We have reached our goal and now, according to plan, it’s time for us to retire. After this message’s publication, we will begin winding down all of our infrastructure. All stored information will be wiped and securely destroyed."

Blockchain security firm PeckShield confirmed the retirement and highlighted that Pink Drainer addresses had deposited up to 18.1 million DAI into the DeFi lending protocol Spark, making up about 1.35% of the total sDAI tokens, indicating Pink Drainer was one of the largest sDAI holders.

ScamSniffer data revealed that over the past year, Pink Drainer has stolen over $85 million in cryptocurrency from more than 21,000 victims.
