Irina Dilinska, the one-time legal guardian of the notorious OneCoin scam, has finally faced the music. After pleading guilty to aiding a multi-billion dollar Ponzi scheme, she's been sentenced to four years behind bars.

Dilinska, 42, wasn't just any employee – she was the head of legal and compliance for OneCoin. Judge Edgardo Ramos wasn't impressed with her lofty title, calling her "a woman of great intelligence who ought to have known better."

OneCoin, founded in 2014, promised investors riches through a fake cryptocurrency. But instead of a blockchain bonanza, it was a pyramid scheme in disguise. Think endless recruitment chains, not revolutionary tech.

Dilinska's attempt to avoid jail time by claiming childcare duties fell on deaf ears. Judge Ramos saw through it, ordering her to forfeit a cool $111 million on top of the prison sentence.

This isn't the first – or last – fall from grace for OneCoin executives. Co-founder Karl Greenwood is already serving a 20-year sentence, and the hunt for the missing "Cryptoqueen," Ruja Ignatova, continues.

Despite being exposed as a sham in 2015, OneCoin raked in over $4.3 billion, with profits nearing $3 billion between 2014 and 2016. This case serves as a stark reminder: if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Don't let fancy titles or promises of easy money blind you.
