Polkadot has allocated 2 million DOT tokens, equivalent to $14.4 million, to Hydration, its leading DeFi project. This significant investment aims to enhance the liquidity and trading efficiency of Hydration's single-sided liquidity provisioning platform, Omnipool. The funds will be utilized to attract fresh liquidity to the Polkadot ecosystem, with initial rewards for Liquidity Providers (LPs) exceeding 200% APY.

The allocation of DOT tokens is twofold. One million DOT will be spent over a year to incentivize new liquidity, while the remaining one million DOT will be injected directly into the Hydration Omnipool to create a robust layer of native liquidity. This capital injection adds to the existing 690k+ DOT (and 560k+ vDOT) already LPed into the Hydration Omnipool.

Hydration co-founder Jakub Gregus expressed his gratitude for the Polkadot treasury's generous allocation, stating that it marks a pivotal moment for Hydration.
