Polygon has announced that Union is incorporating Cosmos into AggLayer to enhance cross-chain transactions and inter-network communication. This integration will primarily utilize zero-knowledge proofs to enable sovereign chains to securely share liquidity and state. Union's role will be to facilitate seamless asset transfer and message passing between IBC and all AggLayer chains.

Union's integration with AggLayer marks a significant milestone, adding to previous integrations such as Polygon zkEVM, X Layer, and Astar zkEVM. This positions AggLayer as one of the largest crypto networks in terms of transaction volume, aggregated users, and total value locked (TVL). Polygon views this as a major step forward not only for its ecosystem but also for Cosmos, Union, and AggLayer, as it opens doors for transactions, cross-network development, smoother user experiences, and access to aggregated users.

Cosmos was chosen for integration due to its architecture, which allows it to efficiently manage shared liquidity and state across sovereign chains. This integration offers numerous benefits, including enhanced technical innovation, unrestricted liquidity movement, and a single connection point for interoperability.

The announcement has positively impacted MATIC, Polygon's native token, with a 1.28% increase in the last 24 hours. However, it has experienced decreases of 24.88% and 30.15% in the last 7 and 30 days, respectively. This increase followed Polygon's announcement of the X Layer launch by OKX, enabling over 50 million users to access AggLayer's unified liquidity.

OKB, the native token of OKX, will serve as the native token of X Layer and will be used for gas fees on the network. Additionally, Polygon Labs has recently obtained ISO 27001 Certification for its information security management systems.

Looking ahead, Polygon is optimistic about the Union-Cosmos integration and its potential to enhance cross-chain transactions and inter-network communication.
