Secret Network is actively working on implementing decentralized confidential computing (DeCC) throughout the entire Web3 ecosystem, allowing applications to leverage the decentralized capabilities of almost any Blockchain.

Recently, Secret Network, the first mainnet Blockchain with private smart contracts, launched the Confidential Computing Layer (CCL). This layer acts as a compatible tool for facilitating communication between applications on different Blockchains and contracts on the Secret Network, enabling confidential computations.

This innovation opens doors for applications that store encrypted data, distinguishing them from traditional Blockchains where data is public. Secret Network specializes in creating applications that protect encrypted data, diverging from the common practice of public data storage in most Blockchains.

This creates opportunities for popular Web3 applications like DeFi, NFTs, and DAOs. Developers have expressed keen interest and anticipated a rise in the prices of in-house tokens $ATOM and $SCRT. In June 2023, Secret introduced "Privacy as a Service," extending computing services to other Blockchains through cross-chain communication, partnering with the Axelar network to establish seamless message exchange between Secret and various EVM chains.

However, refining and documenting these confidential computing concepts would take additional time, as predicted by Secret Network. The developers behind Secret Network are continuously improving its CCL, supporting over 10 EVM Blockchains and providing comprehensive documentation for developers.

They plan to integrate their CCL with new Blockchains and announce partnerships to attract developers and showcase the opportunities that confidential computing can bring to Web3. Additionally, Secret Network aims to enhance its CCL capabilities by incorporating cross-chain messaging technologies like Wormhole, Union, and Composable, expanding its reach to Blockchains like Solana, Aptos, and NEAR.

This expansion increases Secret's reach and provides developers with greater versatility in formulating cross-chain strategies, with a focus on streamlining the development process and providing comprehensive tutorials and documentation for each cross-chain application example.
