Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino announced that the company will launch a new series of digital asset products on June 17, after a year of intensive development. Details about these products remain undisclosed, but the move underscores Tether's expanding influence and ambitions within the financial sector. In May, Ardoino hinted at Tether's plans to replicate the success of USDT by removing monopolistic intermediaries from financial markets.

Ardoino previously mentioned plans for a peer-to-peer financial markets terminal using Holepunch technology, aiming to decentralize financial market data infrastructure similar to the advancements in payment systems. Tether has not yet responded to CryptoSlate's request for comment at the time of writing.

Over the past year, Tether has diversified its efforts beyond its USDT stablecoin. The company has reorganized into four distinct sectors—finance, data, education, and power—to strengthen its USDT distribution network and invest in initiatives like AI and Bitcoin mining.

Ardoino highlighted Tether's commitment to this strategy, planning to allocate over $1 billion to various projects within the next year. He emphasized the importance of investing in technologies that reduce dependence on major tech companies like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, aiming for greater disintermediation in traditional finance.

Tether's diversification coincides with its improved financial performance. The company reported significant profits exceeding $4 billion in the first quarter, with USDT stablecoin transactions constituting approximately 70% of the market.
