Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has urged the crypto industry to push for regulatory clarity by supporting pro-crypto political candidates and voting out those opposed to it. In a June 3 blog post titled “How to get regulatory clarity for crypto,” Armstrong highlighted Coinbase's significant investment in policy efforts and the company's ongoing commitment to these efforts as crypto regulations evolve worldwide.

Armstrong emphasized two main routes to achieving regulatory clarity: creating new case law through the courts and passing legislation through Congress. However, he acknowledged the challenges posed by the current divided government, where inaction is common unless the cost of doing nothing outweighs doing the right thing.

To address these challenges, Armstrong called for bipartisan efforts to elect pro-crypto candidates and remove anti-crypto politicians. He noted that with 52 million Americans owning digital assets, the crypto community represents a significant and diverse portion of the electorate, spanning various demographics and political affiliations.

StandWithCrypto.org, a grassroots movement supported by Coinbase, has gained over 900,000 advocates nationwide, particularly in key battleground states like Georgia and Arizona. These advocates have actively influenced key legislative votes. Coinbase aims to support StandWithCrypto.org in mobilizing over 1 million advocates by Labor Day, offering resources like candidate scorecards, tools for contacting representatives, donation options, and voter registration assistance.

Armstrong identified key races for the House, Senate, and Presidency as crucial for the future of crypto legislation and urged crypto holders to participate in the upcoming elections and support pro-crypto candidates. He concluded by stressing the need for updated financial infrastructure and economic freedom.
