Anticipated to bring about several enhancements for COTI V2, the Dencun upgrade is expected to notably decrease transaction costs. A key aspect of the Dencun upgrade is the introduction of ephemeral data blobs through EIP-4844, also referred to as proto-dank sharding. This innovation is crucial for lowering layer-2 transaction fees by introducing a new transaction type known as "blob-carrying transactions."

EIP-4844 enables the integration of larger data volumes per transaction by enabling dedicated transactions capable of carrying blobs. This is particularly advantageous for layer 2 scaling solutions like rollups, enabling the consolidation of multiple transactions into a single, larger transaction submitted to the blockchain without delays. COTI V2's Layer 2 architecture is purposefully designed to accommodate this enhanced model, ensuring that users of COTI V2's decentralized applications (dApps) and network can fully leverage its scalability.
