Toncoin (TON) has experienced a notable surge in value, rising by about 50% since the start of the month and registering a 15% increase in the past 24 hours, hitting a three-week peak of $7.10 on May 10th. This growth surpasses the broader crypto market's 15% uptick during the same timeframe.

The surge in Toncoin's value coincides with the upcoming launch of a gaming venture called Notcoin on May 16th. Notcoin operates as a social gaming app within the Telegram platform, where players engage with the Notcoin bot and are prompted to invite friends to join. The game primarily revolves around tapping a gold coin on the screen repeatedly to earn Notcoin cryptocurrency. Over 34.5 million players have already participated in this event.

Furthermore, the Notcoin team has announced an airdrop event for a new local cryptocurrency named NOT among the 34.5 million Notcoin token holders. Starting May 16th, NOT will operate on the TON Blockchain within The Open Network ecosystem. NOT will also commence trading on major crypto exchanges like Binance and Bybit on the same day. The days leading up to NOT's launch witnessed a significant surge in the total value locked (TVL) across the network, reaching 40.58 million TON by May 10th, marking a 33% increase in May and a sevenfold rise since the beginning of 2024.

Pantera Capital attributed its investment decision to the integration of The Open Network with the Telegram messaging service in April.
