In a recent analysis, Santiment, a leading cryptocurrency research firm, revealed the top altcoins that have captured the attention of developers worldwide over the past month. The data was gathered by tracking changes made to the open-source codes of various cryptocurrency projects on Github.

Hedera (HBAR) topped the list with a developer score of 552, followed closely by Optimism (OP) with 543 and Cardano (ADA) with 539. Chainlink (LINK) and Starknet (STRK) rounded out the top five with scores of 442 and 384, respectively.

The remaining altcoins in the top 10 were Status (SNT) with 355, Internet Computer (ICP) with 336, Cosmos (ATOM) with 291, and Polkadot (DOT) and Kusama (KSM) tied at 274.

Interestingly, Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, was not included in the list. However, several layer-2 networks built to enhance Ethereum's scalability, such as Optimism and Starknet, made significant appearances.

Santiment acknowledged that Github pages of cryptocurrency projects can sometimes be subject to spam code changes aimed at artificially inflating developer activity. To mitigate this, the company has implemented a specialized method to filter out these spam activities, ensuring the accuracy of the data presented.

This analysis provides valuable insights into the altcoins that are currently capturing the attention of developers worldwide, as they work to enhance the functionality, scalability, and adoption of these blockchain-based projects.
