The cryptocurrency community has witnessed a noteworthy transaction involving a crypto wallet reportedly linked to former U.S. President, Donald Trump. According to on-chain firm, Arkham Intelligence, this wallet transferred more than $2.4 million in ether (ETH) to the prominent cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase over the last three weeks, suggesting a sale of these assets.

This ether was generated as royalties from Trump’s official non-fungible token (NFT) collection hosted on marketplace OpenSea. When digital assets are moved to an exchange, it often indicates a sale for other tokens or USD conversion, though this isn’t mandatory.

Checking in real-time, Arkham identified that as of Thursday, Trump’s wallet still holds $2.2 million worth of various tokens. In August, Arkham associated this wallet with Trump based on public financial disclosures. Those correlated with the amount of token holdings seen in a wallet receiving the most significant royalties from the Trump NFT sale.

In a surprising twist, despite his known skepticism of cryptocurrencies during his presidency, Trump seems to have indulged in cryptocurrency transactions in recent years. It’s plausible that he has profited from the industry’s drastic price fluctuations.

An April documentation revealed Trump’s earnings reached between $500,000 and $1 million from licensing his NFT collection. The earnings didn’t come directly from individual sales of the NFTs, but rather via a licensing agreement handled by CIC Digital LLC with NFT INC LLC.
