Garanti BBVA, through its subsidiary Garanti BBVA Digital Assets, has introduced a groundbreaking cryptocurrency wallet service named Garanti BBVA Crypto on its mobile platform. This move marks a milestone in Turkey's financial landscape as the first instance of a bank subsidiary independently launching a crypto wallet.

The newly launched Garanti BBVA Crypto platform enables customers to securely transfer and store Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and USD Coin (USDC). Available initially on the App Store for iOS users, the wallet boasts advanced security features and facilitates digital payments.

According to Çağrı Süzer, Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of BBVA Digital Assets, the development follows successful pilot studies and is now accessible to all users after an initial beta phase. While currently supporting BTC, ETH, and USDC, the bank plans to expand its crypto asset offerings and further strengthen its service infrastructure in the future.

Garanti BBVA's foray into cryptocurrency services aligns with its strategic vision to lead in the evolving fintech sector. The bank has been actively exploring blockchain technology and crypto services, recognizing their transformative potential in financial markets.
