The market saw a positive surge in optimism lately, catching the eye of investors. This spike happened despite concerns about security flaws in a popular layer-2 platform.

On April 26, Offchain Labs, the creators of Arbitrum, a well-known Ethereum L2 solution, revealed some security issues in the Optimism Stack system. They found two significant vulnerabilities that could potentially be exploited by hackers. These flaws could manipulate the network's security measures, leading to unresolved disputes and putting users' funds at risk.

Although these vulnerabilities were discovered about a month ago, Optimism Labs has since updated its testnet to fix them. Initially, this news caused Optimism's price to drop by almost 5%. However, within a day, investor confidence in Optimism's security and future prospects rebounded strongly.

In the past 24 hours, Optimism's price surged by 17.16%, reaching $2.69, according to CoinMarketCap data. Additionally, its daily trading volume increased significantly by 110.64%, totaling $402.77 million.

Amidst this bullish sentiment, crypto analyst Michaël van De Poppe has advised investors to consider altcoins, suggesting that the momentum has shifted away from Bitcoin. He believes that altcoins, like Optimism, are undervalued and poised for substantial gains in the current market cycle. Van De Poppe predicts a longer-lasting bull run this time, based on the extended bear market.

In addition to Optimism, the analyst highlighted several other altcoins, including Chainlink, Woo, Celestia, and Skale, as potential lucrative investments in the ongoing market conditions.
