Pan-African crypto trading platform Yellow Card has added five tokens to its application in a bid to expand its service.

Yellow Card announced on Mar. 8 that its users can now trade Cardano (ADA), Ether (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), Solana (SOL) and Celo Dollar (cUSD). The company has increased the number of tradable cryptocurrencies on the app to seven including Bitcoin (BTC), and Tether (USDT), which is a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar.

The platform will give its over 1 million users more options in trading and digital assets, and its users demanded more tokens on the platform, Yellow Card said in a statement.

“Our customers wanted to trade a wider variety of digital assets,” Ogochukwu Umeokafor, Director of Product Management at Yellow Card stated. “As opposed to being limited by the few number coins we had available on the platform at the time.”

He added: “As a company, we are constantly taking deliberate steps to scale our business which means expanding our offering in various indices to drive adoption and usage.”

The addition will also provide a seamless way for customers to keep track of their entire portfolio. It provides an opportunity to learn about particular token market statistics. Customers can also monitor token prices with ease, the company said.

Money Transfer by Cryptocurrency

In January, the company launched Yellow Pay across Africa, a service that enables users to send and receive money. Yellow Pay users will send funds without any extra charges, instantly with just a few taps on their smartphone.

“With Yellow Pay, customers can send and receive money through the Yellow Card crypto exchange platform,” the crypto platform said. Yellow Pay will be cheaper and instant than traditional money transfers, the company stated.

“The uses are endless as one can send money for business, school and healthcare,” Yellow Card explained. Users can also gift cash to friends and family across Africa, pay vendors in other countries, receive payment for services, pay bills and fees in other African currencies.

Winning 1BTC

In its mission to bring in more users to its platform, the crypto company is giving away a total of 1BTC, which traded at $19,900 (as of Mar. 10).

The promotion running under the “A WHOLE in Your Wallet” tag will see users who buy, sell or send a minimum of $10 are qualifed for entry.

“We wanted to find an innovative way to interact with our customers and show our appreciation for their support,” Chief Marketing Officer of Yellow Card, John Colson, commented. “Winning one Bitcoin is an unprecedented prize.” Colson said the competition aims to spark more interest in cryptocurrency in Africa, and spur more engagement from ordinary citizens.

The competition began in Feb. 13 and will run till Mar. 26.
