Interview with Netrovert (Serial winning thread or Web 3 creator)

The co-founder's comment captures the essence of everything Africa's biggest product community has successfully achieved in just one year of launch. According to NODO Wrapped 2023, the company recorded over 2000 articles and 1.5 million site visits, establishing NODO as a top dog in Africa's blockchain education.

As a Content Fellow, two events in the community have been impressive for me:

• Nodo Create-to-Earn Campaign

This community event ran from January 31st to February with a generous prize pool in NODO gems and the tasks were simple.

Participants were required to create content on three official prompts and post on social media platforms like Twitter (X), Facebook, LinkedIn, and so on.

• Nodo Content Creator Program

This program allows community members to earn from a prize pool of 350 USDT to be shared among the top ten content creators in the product community.

Based on this incentive, participants are expected to publish blockchain articles on the platform. Creators who make the weekly leaderboard will do so based on content volume and quality.

Without a doubt, NODO's commitment to creatives in the Web 3 space and blockchain education remains distinctive and this article is inspired by the same spirit of community building. Having started the year on an energetic note with the Create-to-Earn campaign and Content Creator Program, one can expect more aces up the sleeve of the NODO team.

However, only creators who meet NODO's standards of excellence stand a chance to enjoy all the juicy rewards and opportunities on NODO. This year, my Web 3 explorations have led me to notice the work of one of Web 3's hottest creators on Twitter (X) and he provides valuable insights on the best tips for crafting winning threads for Web 3 projects and community events like those on NODO Africa.

Q: Before we get right to it, the community would like to meet you. Can you give us a brief introduction?

A: My name is Ramadan Adenola, popularly known as Netrovert in the Web 3 space. I work with SuperTeam as a state mod and I also work as an ambassador for some Web 3 projects.

Q: When did you join the Web 3 space and how long have you been contributing?

A: I joined the Web 3 space in 2022 but wasn't active on Twitter (X) until August 2023.

Q: That's impressive because in such a short time you've made so much progress already. Can you share some observations you made that resulted in your current excellent delivery of threads for Web 3 projects?

A: Well, I wasn't thinking about Web 3 writing when I started on X. I was already creating content like any other writer.

But I'll say I've observed that most people writing threads have poor structuring. Whitespaces are not properly utilized because creators are nonchalant about their threads. I started like that too but over time I started paying attention to detail.

For instance, if I'm tagging people on my thread I always arrange them in alphabetical order.

That's how structured I am. I also introduced some subtle emojis that keep the reader's attention. I started that trend and I've seen others use it too. I wasn't thinking about what writing in Web 3 needed. I was just focused on how to improve my work.

And I got inspiration from top writers in the space like Mercy the Great and Izucrypt. I kind of modelled my style based on theirs.

Q: Wow, just awesome. Thank you for sharing that insight. So for newbies in the space, what are the guidelines you recommend to help them craft killer threads when creating Web 3 content on X?

A: To begin with, it depends on what the person is all about. Many people try to come in with storytelling but sometimes you don't need to write with storytelling.

You just need to break down certain complex terms about certain projects.

I remember a contest I entered and a guy submitted an entry that started with a nice story about the last World Cup Final. The first five tweets were all about the story instead of the project.

One of the project investors complained about it because the story was irrelevant to the project. That taught me that founders and investors want to see creators talk about their projects.

Storytelling is fine for personal threads. I don't like it but my circle has always told me that if you want to grow in the space, you have to post relatable content.

My current pinned tweet has storytelling. Most of my viral threads have storytelling. The key is to know when to use stories as a writer.

Another thing writers need to learn is using whitespaces in threads. When I started I didn't even know they were called whitespaces. I just liked to ensure my threads were not noisy.

Some writers tend to keep their paragraphs lengthy. We should give room for readers to breathe.

The third thing I'll recommend is using hooks. I think in that regard, I've gotten very good as a writer.

Sometimes I extract two to three hooks and compare them to know which one will catch attention. That's how important hooks are.

In addition, if you're writing for a protocol, what they need is exposure. Get engagement any way you can. Either by tagging influencers to your threads or sharing with your friends.

Carry your work on your head as they say. Don't write and believe the algorithm will help you. The algorithm on X is rigged against crypto.

When you search it out, crypto doesn't have as much reach as other niches.

Q: Alright, thank you for sharing. Do you have anything to recommend for newbies when it comes to researching content?

A: First of all, don't underrate Twitter (X). Many people don't know how to use Twitter (X) for research.

There's something called Advanced Search on Twitter (X) but it's only available on Twitter (X) Web.

When looking for information on a project, type it out in the search bar. And then go through tweets about that project: comments, retweets, and quiet tweets.

Twitter (X) is a good place to research. There are also Medium and Project Whitepapers. Also source from project discussion channels like Discord and Telegram.

Q: Okay, that's excellent. This has been super insightful. I can't wait for the community to learn from this. This would help a lot of users. For the last question is there anything you're working on at the moment?

A: Like I said I'm contributing to Superteam at the moment and I'm currently working as a state mod for Superteam in my locality. I'm working on a couple of projects too as an ambassador.I have a community of my own and I'm looking to expand it to Twitter (X) for more exposure and opportunities.

• Research extensively

• Simplify complex concepts (know when to use storytelling)
