According to the latest roadmap, Aave V4, Aave Network, Cross-Chain Liquidity Layer, and non-EVM L1 deployments are in the works. The Aave ecosystem boasts a total value locked (TVL) of $10 billion, making it the third-largest in the DeFi space. Aave, a DeFi lending protocol, has revealed its intentions to introduce version 4 (V4) by mid-2025, with various upgrades planned as part of the 'Aave 2030 Roadmap' unveiled recently.

The upcoming V4 version aims to implement a new architecture that is more efficient in managing liquidity, capital, and risks. The key features of V4 include a 'Unified Liquidity Layer', isolation pools, new borrow modules for RWAs and CDPs, and enhanced connections with GHO, Aave's stablecoin. Additionally, Aave V4 will feature fully automated interest rates, liquidity premiums, and reverse auction mechanisms, along with a fresh visual identity.

The roadmap covers details of planned upgrades and milestones over the next three years, starting from Q2 2024. Aave Labs seeks funding of 15 million GHO and 25,000 stkAAVE for the initial year of the three-year plan. Highlighting Aave's progression towards chain-agnostic liquidity protocol, the proposal mentions the introduction of CCIP, Superchains, and V4's Unified Liquidity Layer to enable secure cross-chain liquidity infrastructure.

Presently, Aave ranks as the third-largest DeFi protocol with a TVL of $10.14 billion across 12 chains. Aave V3, launched in early 2023, holds $8.15 billion in locked assets, while V2, launched in December 2020, has a TVL of $1.97 billion. With over 450,000 AAVE holders having governance rights, and a recent 43% rise in daily active users to 9.17k, the platform shows growing engagement. The native token AAVE is valued at $83.41 with a market cap of $1.23 billion, witnessing a 3.8% increase in the last 24 hours following the Aave V4 announcement.
