DePIN Protocol Aethir has officially launched its decentralized cloud computing network on the Ethereum mainnet, accompanied by its native token ATH. Within just two hours of its launch, data aggregator CoinGecko indicates that the token surged by nearly 100%.

Aethir’s platform facilitates the rental of high-performance compute resources for tasks such as AI training or digital content rendering. Its economy is supported by the native token, ATH, which leverages Ethereum for staking and Arbitrum for rapid payments. Additionally, the token plays a pivotal role in governance and security within the Aethir ecosystem.

Mark Rydon, CCO at Aethir, remarked, “By offering a scalable framework for redistributing idle compute resources, we can fuel more innovation in the swiftly evolving fields of AI, ML, and cloud gaming. Now live on mainnet, reputable enterprises can contribute to the Aethir network and broaden access to the existing supply of GPUs.”

As per the announcement, Aethir’s user base surpassed 500,000 on its testnet after a successful $146 million node sale. Moreover, the protocol garnered support from industry leaders like NVIDIA and HPE, and is now taking further steps to democratize its computing power for AI and game studios worldwide.

The protocol also introduces a staking program inviting users to secure and expand its distributed GPU network. The ATH Gaming and ATH AI inaugural staking pools offer rewards in collaboration with gaming and AI entities.

The decentralized public infrastructure network (DePIN) narrative is rapidly gaining popularity, emerging as the fifth-largest narrative in crypto in Q1, as per a CoinGecko report. Additionally, this sector currently ranks among the 30 largest by market cap.
