In a weekend that saw the artificial intelligence (AI) sector take center stage, AI-focused tokens surged, driven by a series of strategic moves from two of the tech world's most influential figures.

Elon Musk's xAI Gambit

Elon Musk, the maverick entrepreneur behind some of the most disruptive companies of our time, has once again sent ripples through the financial world.

This time, he announces that X Corp shareholders are set to inherit a 25% stake in xAI, Musk's latest foray into AI. This venture immediately drew the market's gaze as xAI began Grok chatbot testing, igniting a frenzy of replica tokens and bullish sentiment in the AI token sphere.

Sam Altman's Shift Shakes the Scene

Simultaneously, the AI token market responded to the shake-up at OpenAI, following the unexpected ouster of Sam Altman. Initial speculation about Altman's return to OpenAI's board was quickly dispelled as he pivoted to a new role at Microsoft, taking the helm of AI research.

AI Tokens Outshine the Crypto Standard

As the dust settled on these announcements, AI tokens stood tall. Bittensor’s TAO led the charge, posting a 7.7% increase on Monday alone, contributing to an 83% leap over the past week. Smaller AI tokens, including SNS, LMWR, and NCDT, eclipsed their larger counterparts with staggering surges of 97%, 56%, and 35%, respectively. The AI token market cap swelled by an impressive 10% on Monday, dwarfing the global cryptocurrency market cap's modest 1.7% gain.
