Alex Labs, a Bitcoin layer-2 (L2) developer, has announced its roadmap to restore community trust and restart platform operations following a recent security breach.

The Alex Labs Foundation has initiated two governance votes concerning the reopening of pools and the migration of its native token and automated market maker (AMM).

**Recovery and Governance**

During a May 29 X Space event, the Alex Lab Foundation outlined their recovery plan, addressed community questions, and discussed governance. The team emphasized their commitment to resuming operations with enhanced security measures.

The two governance votes involve the Treasury Grant Program (TGP), aimed at recovering community assets, and the reopening of unaffected pools, including multiple Stacks (STX) pools. The TGP vote allows the community to choose from five options for using recovered assets, though two options carry risks due to their synthetic nature. The potential risks include a shortfall in collateral if the price of Stacks rises above $3 or if Alex's price drops below $0.13, which could lead to a de-pegging of the synthetic asset.

While the community is eager for the platform to reopen quickly, the Alex Lab Foundation stressed the need to balance the benefits of reopening pools with the associated risks.

**Security Efforts**

In response to the hack, the Foundation has implemented measures to enhance security and prevent future exploits. These measures include partnering with Kaamel Technology to investigate the incident, conducting a new smart-contract-based multisig security audit, and collaborating with legal entities to recover stolen funds.

They are working closely with legal counsel, law enforcement agencies, and centralized exchanges to locate, freeze, and recover the stolen assets.

**Ongoing Communication**

The Alex Labs Foundation has committed to ongoing communication with the community through a series of AMAs. They encouraged the community to ask questions and participate in governance discussions via Twitter and Telegram.

The governance votes will conclude on June 2 at 3:30 pm UTC, determining the future management of the recovered funds.
