Robinhood now offers access to all eleven spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on both brokerage and retirement accounts. Johann Kerbrat, Robinhood Crypto's general manager, views this move as crucial for the future of finance, believing that cryptocurrencies will play a significant role in it.

Vlad Tenev, the CEO of Robinhood, sees the Securities and Exchange Commission's decision as a positive step toward better risk management for customers, granting them more control over their crypto assets.

However, Vanguard has decided against allowing brokerage account holders to purchase these ETFs, citing concerns about stability and regulatory compliance aligning with its long-term investment strategies.

The eleven recently approved spot bitcoin ETFs include offerings from Bitwise, Grayscale, BlackRock, Hashdex, Valkyrie, Invesco, BZX, VanEck, WisdomTree, Franklin Templeton, and Fidelity.

As of November 2023, Robinhood disclosed $94.4 billion in assets under custody. Additionally, the trading platform expanded its commission-free cryptocurrency trading services to clients in the European Union in early December 2023.
