Financial giant Franklin Templeton is making waves in the crypto world with the launch of its "Franklin Ethereum TR Ethereum ETF," listed under the ticker symbol EZET. This ETF tracks the price of Ethereum, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency, offering investors a convenient way to gain exposure to the digital asset.

However, before we all jump on the Ether Express, it's important to remember that this listing on the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) website doesn't guarantee a green light from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC is still reviewing Franklin Templeton's application (filed in February) and has extended its decision deadline to June 11th.

This wait-and-see approach from the SEC is a bit different from the recent Bitcoin ETF approvals. Analyst Eric Balchunas estimates the odds of a successful Ether ETF launch at around 35%, citing the SEC's more cautious stance on Ethereum compared to Bitcoin.
