Crypto analyst Jason Pizzino has expressed concerns about XRP, suggesting it could offer the lowest returns with the highest risk among the top 11 altcoins. In his recent analysis shared on X, Pizzino outlined various altcoins, excluding stablecoins and Ethereum, that could potentially surpass Bitcoin's performance while minimizing risky trades.

Performance of Top 11 Altcoins

Pizzino categorized altcoins based on their performance following Bitcoin's breakout in October 2023, a significant milestone in the altcoin season. According to his analysis, Solana (SOL) emerged as the top performer, experiencing a remarkable surge of 180%, indicating robust growth momentum. Other altcoins with positive results included Binance Coin (BNB) with a 22% increase, Dogecoin (DOGE) up by 18%, and Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Avalanche (AVAX) showing gains of 50% and 63%, respectively.

Toncoin (TON) remained stable, while several altcoins recorded negative performance. Cardano (ADA) declined by 24%, Polkadot (DOT) by 17%, Chainlink (LINK) by 21%, and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) by 15%. XRP showed the worst performance among the top 11 altcoins, plummeting by 55%.

Pizzino stressed the importance for traders to steer clear of high-risk, low-reward investments, particularly in the late stages of a market cycle. He cited XRP as a prime example where the risk outweighs potential returns, citing ongoing uncertainties surrounding the token.

Ripple's Challenges

Ripple has been embroiled in a legal battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since late 2020, facing allegations of the unregistered sale of digital asset securities exceeding $1.3 billion. Despite some legal progress, ongoing appeals by the SEC continue to impact XRP's market performance.

Currently trading around $0.53, XRP has seen a modest increase of about 4.54% over the past month. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse remains optimistic about the prospects of an XRP ETF approval by the SEC, suggesting that Ripple and Bitcoin are the only cryptocurrencies with regulatory clarity.

However, BKCM founder Brian Kelly offers a different perspective, highlighting SOL as a potential candidate for the next cryptocurrency to secure ETF approval. He views Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana as the leading trio of this market cycle.
