A recent study analyzing over a million tweets has revealed varying opinions on the metaverse, with Vietnam showing the highest level of support and Ireland expressing the most skepticism.

A comprehensive analysis by the crypto data website CoinKickoff examined 1.6 million tweets from different countries to gauge public sentiment about the metaverse. The findings revealed that Vietnam emerged as the most enthusiastic about the metaverse, with 56.8% of metaverse-related tweets from the country being positive.

Other East-Asian nations also displayed favorable attitudes towards the metaverse. In addition to Vietnam, the Philippines, Ukraine, Nigeria, and Indonesia were among the top countries with positive sentiments about this digital concept.

On the flip side, Ireland led the group of nations with the most negative tweets about the metaverse. The data indicated that 14.4% of metaverse-related tweets from Ireland expressed unfavorable views. Western countries, in general, were more skeptical of the metaverse. Following Ireland, Denmark, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada had the highest percentages of negative tweets about the concept.

As metaverse use cases continue to grow, different regions and industries are finding unique applications for this technology. For instance, the Woodstock music festival, a historical event known for its cultural significance, is exploring the metaverse to reimagine its future and maintain its legacy. Jennifer Roberts from Woodstock Ventures explained that the metaverse provides a platform where people can celebrate and share their beliefs in a more inclusive environment.

Nokia, a company widely recognized for its mobile devices, is also venturing into the metaverse to enhance connectivity in various sectors. Robert Joyce, chief technical officer of Nokia Oceania, mentioned that Nokia has been experimenting with the metaverse to connect remote beer breweries and assist aircraft technicians. These innovative efforts showcase the potential of the metaverse in improving operational efficiencies and remote collaborations.
