Aptos, a layer-1 blockchain developed by former Facebook employees, has achieved a new milestone in blockchain transactions. On May 25, Aptos recorded an astounding 115.4 million transactions in a single day, surpassing Solana's 31.7 million transactions, as reported by Aptoscan. This surge in activity also broke the previous L1 record of 65 million transactions held by Sui Network, exceeding it by over 50 million.

The spike in transaction volume highlights the increasing adoption of Aptos and the overall momentum in the industry. Data from Aptoscan shows that the platform's user TPS (transactions per second) reached an all-time high of 32,000 on the same day, demonstrating its scalability and robustness.

The significant rise in transactions on Aptos is largely due to the launch of Tapos Cat, a tap-to-earn game that processed 10 million transactions on its first day on the mainnet. Tapos Cat allows users to earn $HEART tokens by 'tickling' a virtual cat and offers a gas-fee-free experience for the first 72 hours, encouraging high user engagement.

**Crypto Veterans Question Tapos Cat’s Long-Term Viability**

Critics, including the CEO of Helius Labs, have questioned the long-term viability and practical utility of Tapos Cat, arguing that the game's focus on click-and-buy interactions might artificially inflate metrics. However, supporters of Aptos argue that Tapos Cat is an important engineering project that demonstrates the network's scalability and robustness, paving the way for future developments.

In another development, Aptos Labs recently introduced a group of global advisers, including David Lawee, former vice president of corporate development at Google. Aptos Labs has also partnered with Atomrigs Lab and SK Telecom to launch T wallet, a Web3 wallet service.

**Solana Among Fastest Blockchains**

Solana remains one of the fastest large blockchains, processing 91 million transactions in a single day. On April 6, Solana set a record with a daily average of 1,504 transactions per second (TPS) during a memecoin frenzy, making it 46 times faster than Ethereum and over 5 times faster than Polygon. Despite its speed, Solana has only reached 1.6% of its theoretical maximum of 65,000 TPS. Ethereum scaling solutions and layer 2 solutions have yet to surpass other layer 1 blockchains in real processing speed, likely due to fewer on-chain transactions.
