Arbitrum, a popular Ethereum Layer-2 protocol, has reached a major milestone by surpassing $150 billion in trading volume on the decentralized exchange Uniswap. This achievement was highlighted by the Uniswap Labs team on social media, making Arbitrum the first Layer-2 protocol to achieve this feat. The total transaction volume for Arbitrum as of early May has now crossed $150.2 billion.

Arbitrum's success can also be seen in its total value locked (TVL) of $2.64 billion, ranking it fifth among major protocols like Solana, BSC, Tron, and Ethereum. Despite these advancements, the price of Arbitrum's native token, ARB, continues to disappoint investors, currently trading at $1.07 with a 0.60% decrease in the last 24 hours.

Offchain Labs, the main contributor to Arbitrum, recently launched an upgrade called Atlas for its Layer-2 protocol in March. This upgrade aimed to reduce transaction costs on the Ethereum Layer-2 network. Additionally, DeFiLlama data shows that Uniswap has become the largest decentralized exchange with a TVL of $5.54 billion as of May 6.

However, concerns have been raised about the ARB token's price performance compared to other projects. The team's management of token supply during locked token launch events and the unlock event has received criticism. Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of ARB tokens were released during the unlock event, leading to a rapid sell-off by token holders and a decrease in the token's value, which has been a subject of community discussion.
