Astar Network has introduced Yoki Origins, a Web3 adventure in collaboration with Astar zkEVM, aiming to gamify user onboarding while offering access to various digital collectibles from artists and companies. The collectibles, representing NFTs, include three key elements: Yoki, OMA, and Lore.

Yoki Origins is essentially a journey where players collect Yoki characters and accumulate Lore points. By gathering multiple Yokis, players can merge them to unlock upgraded character versions. Daily logins and completing quests earn players OMA, while accumulating Lores involves owning Yokis, collecting characters, merging them, and monitoring the leaderboard.

Major Japanese companies such as CASIO, CANDY GIRL, Kyushu Railway Company, and Japan Airlines are already part of Yoki Origins. Additionally, players gain access to decentralized applications (dApps) like Quickswap, Dew, DappRadar, XO, and Rarible, with more expected in the future. Players can utilize their Yoki holdings to explore dApps, including XO, a dating application.

To celebrate the launch of Yoki, Astar Network has announced a limited-time campaign offering players the opportunity to double their holdings until March 14, 2024. Meanwhile, the native token ASTR has seen a 2% increase, hovering around $0.1559, despite a slight decline in the past seven and 30 days.

This development follows Astar's recent launch of the mainnet version of zkEVM, connecting to the Polygon-developed Agglayer on Ethereum. This move enhances cross-chain interoperability, bridging the Astar ecosystem with Ethereum and Polygon, while laying the groundwork for future growth by simplifying the implementation of the CDK standard and enabling seamless transfer of Ethereum assets to the Astar zk rollup via a unified bridge.
