cBridge has recently established support for bridging with Aurora, a platform utilizing the Ethereum Virtual Machine for scalability, operating on NEAR Protocol and benefiting from unique features such as sharding and fast finality.

Aurora blends the development experience of Ethereum 1.0 with layer-two scalability and speed. Developers working with Aurora's Solidity smart contracts may find familiar Ethereum tools like Truffle, Etherscan, and Infura useful. Aurora's native token is ETH, and users can interact with the system using well-known wallets like Imtoken and MetaMask, ensuring a seamless onboarding process for dApp users.

Through this collaboration, users will be able to directly connect USDC, WETH, and USDT to a liquidity pool-based model on Aurora, as well as eleven other chains supported by cBridge. Celer plans to introduce liquidity mining programs for these pools upon their release to bootstrap liquidity. Additionally, Aurora aims to adopt the Open Canonical Token Standard in the future to promote interoperability within its ecosystem. This standard allows multiple bridging solutions to be enlisted simultaneously and enables the management of cross-chain transmission quotas across various solutions based on preferences for fees, finality speed, and bridge status updates. Following this standard, Celer's cross-chain support on Aurora will initially include tokens such as $CELO, $BUSD, $AVAX, $MOVR, $MATIC, $BNB, and $FTM from their respective native chains, offering a more secure and stable approach to facilitating interoperability between Aurora and the broader blockchain space.

The Open Canonical Token Standard liberates projects and chains from dependency on a single bridge for cross-chain asset transfers, allowing them to adapt quickly to new interoperability advancements. Celer foresees reduced security risks for the entire blockchain space as more protocols adopt this standard as a foundational delivery model in their multi-chain strategies.
