Avalanche has evolved into a network of interconnected chains through the implementation of Teleporter, a system that creates the appearance of a unified chain.

The conventional messaging protocol of Avalanche, along with Avalanche Warp Messaging (AWM), has been incorporated into the Teleporter framework. This developer-friendly interface facilitates the seamless transmission and reception of cross-chain EVM messages. With Teleporter, Avalanche blockchains can exchange various types of information, including token data, NFTs, and Oracle price feeds, enabling the development and implementation of cross-Subnet applications with EVM interoperability.

Avalanche was initially designed as a distributed network of customized application chains, accelerated by Subnets introduced in 2022. Subsequently, developments such as HyperSDK, Firewood, and AWM have further enhanced Subnets' capabilities.

Teleporter now enables Subnets to effortlessly transmit messages, allowing developers to establish cross-chain exchanges where users from one Subnet can access the functionality of another. This feature facilitates institutions to utilize USDC in a native gas token format.

Teleporter provides Web3 developers with a comprehensive and audited framework, eliminating signing and authentication challenges associated with AWM. It enables communication with various EVM chains within the Avalanche network, including the Avalanche C-chain.

Teleporter's launch follows the live Mainnet positioning of Avalanche's Durango scaling, which implemented community-suggested Avalanche Community Proposals (ACPs), including ACP-30.

Patrick O’Grady, vice president of platform engineering at Ava Labs, highlights that once Durango scaling is activated on the Avalanche Mainnet, Subnets will be able to establish conventional communications with the C-chain using Avalanche Warp Messaging through Teleporter's EVM-adaptable interface.

Avalanche is a platform for smart contracts that undergoes continuous updates, executing transactions instantly. The platform offers a toolkit like HyperSDK, a Subnet framework, and a proprietary consensus protocol, enabling Web3 developers to deploy customized blockchain services.
