A recent Wall Street Journal report alleged that Binance, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, fired an investigator who discovered market manipulation by one of its clients, DWF Labs. However, Binance and DWF Labs have refuted these claims, stating that they maintain strict market surveillance programs and operate with integrity and transparency.

According to the WSJ report, the investigator found that DWF Labs, a market maker, was engaged in wash trading and pump and dump schemes, manipulating the price of several tokens, including Yield Guild Game (YGG). The report alleged that Binance fired the investigator after submitting the findings. However, Binance claims that the allegations were not fully substantiated and that the investigator was fired for unrelated reasons.

Binance has emphasized its commitment to preventing market abuse, stating that it has off-boarded nearly 355,000 users who violated its terms of use, with a transaction volume of $2.5 trillion.

The company also highlighted its robust surveillance framework, which identifies and takes action against market abuse. DWF Labs has also denied the allegations, stating that they operate with the highest standards of integrity and transparency.
