Binance Labs, the venture capital and incubation arm of crypto exchange Binance, has made an undisclosed investment in Zircuit, a developer of Ethereum Layer 2 networks.

Zircuit, described as a zero-knowledge rollup with AI-enabled sequencer-level security, will utilize the investment from Binance Labs to further expand and enhance its network capabilities.

The specific amount of Binance Labs' investment remains undisclosed, but it arrives ahead of Zircuit's anticipated mainnet launch slated for this summer. Notably, Pantera Capital and Dragonfly are also backers of Zircuit, according to information provided.

Zircuit's technology is categorized as an Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible ZK rollup, similar to projects like ZKsync, Scroll, and Linea. What sets Zircuit apart is its sequencer-level security, a feature that scrutinizes transactions before inclusion in blocks using artificial intelligence. This proactive approach aims to identify and prevent potential hacks or exploits, fostering a safer environment for network participants.

Founded in mid-2022, Zircuit is currently in its testnet phase, with plans to transition to the mainnet in the near future. The project claims to have amassed over $3.5 billion in staked assets and has attracted more than 1,100 applications through its "Build to Earn" program. Notable launch partners include Ethena, Renzo, Ether.fi, KelpDAO, and others.

Zircuit's staking program enables users to pre-commit liquidity, managed by a smart contract on Layer 1, ahead of the mainnet launch. Users can choose to withdraw their assets or transfer them to the Zircuit network using its bridge upon mainnet launch.

Looking ahead, Zircuit is focused on expansion, with plans to hire additional personnel in the engineering department, particularly applied cryptographers with Rust programming skills. With approximately 30 current team members, Zircuit aims to further strengthen its capabilities and advance its mission in the Layer 2 ecosystem.
