According to ETF specialist Eric Balchunas from Bloomberg, Bitcoin ETFs are in for some huge boosts before the year wraps up. Expect two major exciting changes that will bring these investment opportunities to a more extensive group of investors across various platforms.

The first big change aims to make Bitcoin ETFs more accessible to a wider audience in the investment advisory sector. Balchunas highlighted that these ETFs haven't yet made their way into significant wirehouse platforms, which handle assets ranging from $7 trillion to $10 trillion. However, he anticipates that these platforms will start carrying the ETFs in the coming months. This move, likened to stocking a product on the shelves of a major store like Whole Foods, will undoubtedly increase exposure and availability.

Apart from wirehouses, larger investment platforms like Raymond James and LPL could further enhance the availability of ETFs. Balchunas also mentioned that many smaller platforms might follow suit, broadening the reach of Bitcoin ETFs.

The second game-changer, according to Balchunas, involves introducing options trading for Bitcoin ETFs. He predicts that options linked to these ETFs will hit the market by September. Alongside this, he foresees banks creating structured products similar to what they did with Ark Invest. Additionally, he expects the emergence of leveraged ETFs, containing swaps within the ETFs, that could attract significant attention.

Subsequently, Balchunas envisions the rise of covered call strategies and innovative products like long bitcoin/short gold trades. He believes that through experimentation, these developments will prosper and lead to a flourishing ecosystem around the core Bitcoin ETFs we currently see on the market.
