Bitcoin's recent price surge to $67,000 has propelled Bitcoin ETF trading volumes to a remarkable 7-week high, with a daily volume of approximately $6 billion. This significant increase is attributed to Bitcoin's inclusion in new institutional investment products, with around 1,000 US firms purchasing Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

In a single day, the total volume of seven Bitcoin ETFs reached an impressive $5.65 billion, the highest volume recorded since BTC/USD reached its all-time high of $73,800. This surge indicates a shift in investment strategies, with institutions now adopting Bitcoin ETFs as a preferred investment option.

The increase in spot ETFs has continued throughout May, with positive inflows every day. Even institutions like Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, previously experiencing significant outflows, have seen modest interest recently. Form 13F filings reveal that 937 US firms turned to Bitcoin ETFs in the first quarter, a significantly higher number than those interested in gold ETFs during their first quarter post-launch.

This notable adoption of Bitcoin ETFs by institutions signals a positive indicator for the market, according to hedge fund manager Thomas Kralow. With Bitcoin exiting the halving period and sharply rebounding from $60,000, trading firm QCP Capital attributes this move to genuine institutional and sovereign adoption, paving the way for further growth and mainstream acceptance.
